This Is Oakland

Cool Hunting,Shopping

Fun fact: The New York Times named Oakland the #5 place to visit in the world in 2012. The city I’ve been lucky enough to call home for the past 5 years came in just ahead of Tokyo and was the top ranked city in North America. That’s right! So you can imagine my excitement when I found out that my dear friend Melissa Davis and photographer Kristen Loken were putting together a book profiling the city’s most interesting places to eat, shop and play. This is Oakland covers 7 neighborhoods and the creative energy and pioneering spirit that makes them so very special. If you’d like to support their efforts to self publish this wonderful book please check out their Kickstarter campaign! It’s a great project, and a fun way to learn about and explore a city that is quickly becoming the new heart of the Bay Area.

Howdy! This post couldn’t be written any better! Reading through
this post reminds me of my old room mate! He always kept talking about this.

I will forward this article to him. Pretty sure he will have
a good read. Thank you for sharing!

I have a friend who would LOVE this book. Definitely on my Santa-list as a gift option!

Oakland’s become the new cultural hub of the bay area. I love living here! Can’t wait to see the book!
